Security Notice

These forums and the server that runs them are being kept up to date on a constant basis to maximize security and avoid hacking attempts. Several sophisticated preemptive technologies are also being used to prevent spambots and email sniffers to leech on these boards. Backup to another physical location is performed several times daily and firewall and antivirus systems are in place to keep the stability and availability of this server and these forums as high as possible. This is, however, no guarantee that nothing bad can happen.

You can help us, and yourself by observing a few general pointers.
  1. Use a new and complex password for your user account. Don't use the same login/password here that you do on your guild boards or anywhere else. Also ...
NEVER use your Station ID and Password as login on any forum or site. Forums have been hacked in the past and players have lost their accounts, money, items etc. directly due to this.
  2. Observe the use of cookies and the option to have passwords saved for you. Never save your password on publicly accessible computers or on shared PCs and user accounts.
  3. Report suspicious behavior to a MOD or Admin. Use the "Send Email" feature if something needs to be adressed immediately. Optionaly log in to the game and send a /tell.

A significant amount of EverQuest II and other online gaming accounts has been hacked as of late.
You can read more details about the attacks that seems to be coordinated out of China below.

What you SHOULD DO TO PROTECT YOURSELF right now is :
  1. Get UPDATED with the lastest Windows Updates, and stay updated.
  2. Update your Anti Virus program files and signatures.
You DO have an antivirus program installed right? .. otherwise get one now !!
  3. Do a FULL scan of your computer for trojans, viruses, malware and vulnerabilities. If you still haven't installed an Anti Virus program or don't have the possibility, use the online service of this website to scan your computer.
  4. Discard vulnerable browsers, and start using safer ones.
  5. Once step 1-4 is done.. Change your Station password.

Let me emphasize. This site was never compromised. If you got infected, you got it from some other website.
